Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Effective date: August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Gothic Font Generator ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at gothicfontgenerator.net (the "Site"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.
By continuing to use the Site, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy. If you do not agree to our use of cookies, you can adjust your browser settings or opt out using the methods described below.
This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners.
Cookies are set by either the website you are visiting (called "first-party cookies") or by third-party services operating on that website (called "third-party cookies").
In addition to cookies, we may also use similar technologies such as:
- Web beacons: Tiny transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that track whether a page has been viewed
- Local Storage: Browser-based storage used to save your preferences on your device (not transmitted to servers)
- Session Storage: Temporary browser storage cleared when you close your browser tab
2. Types of Cookies We Use
| Category | Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | gothic-theme | First-party (localStorage) | Stores your dark/light theme preference | Persistent (until cleared) |
| Essential | gothic-font-favorites | First-party (localStorage) | Stores your saved favorite font styles | Persistent (until cleared) |
| Essential | __consent | First-party (localStorage) | Stores your cookie consent preferences | 13 months from your latest choice |
| Analytics | _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Supports fuller measurement when the applicable regional consent default or user choice grants analytics storage | Set by Google Analytics, commonly up to 2 years |
| Advertising | Google AdSense cookies and similar technologies | Google AdSense | Delivers and measures Auto Ads; may use cookies, web beacons, IP address, and advertising/device identifiers according to consent and Google policy | Set and controlled by Google |
Note: The Google tag loads with Consent Mode v2. Zone A users start with analytics storage denied and may receive cookieless measurement pings; Zone C users receive the regional granted default. A user choice overrides the regional default. Without analytics storage, the Site must not set or read the cookies listed above.
3. Cookie Categories Explained
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Site to function correctly. They enable core features such as remembering your theme preference (dark or light mode), your saved favorite font styles, and your consent choice.
Important: Our strictly necessary storage for theme, favorites, and consent uses browser localStorage, not HTTP cookies. Theme and favorite values stay on your device; consent status is applied to the Google tag and may be reflected in Consent Mode pings.
These storage items do not collect any personally identifiable information.
3.2 Analytics Cookies
The Site uses Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2. In Zone A, Google Analytics may receive cookieless measurement pings before you choose, but cannot use Google Analytics cookies. Zone C uses the regional granted default. A saved preference always overrides the regional default; when analytics storage is granted, Google Analytics may use cookies to:
- Count how many people visit the Site and which pages are most popular
- Understand how users navigate through the Site
- Identify technical errors and performance bottlenecks
- Measure the effectiveness of content improvements
Keep analytics turned off in the cookie preferences modal if you do not want Google Analytics cookies or consented feature-interaction events. Cookieless page-view measurement may continue whenever analytics storage is denied.
- Leave analytics turned off in the cookie preferences modal
- Use browser controls or content blocking to restrict third-party requests
- Clear existing cookies or site data
3.3 Advertising Cookies
The Site loads Google AdSense Auto Ads in production with Publisher ID ca-pub-4306979469592115. The AdSense script itself is loaded independently of the consent choice so Google can honor the Consent Mode signals; denied advertising storage must result in non-personalized or limited advertising rather than personalized ads.
Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP address, and advertising/device identifiers to deliver, measure, and limit ads. The advertising preference updates ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization through Google Consent Mode v2.
The custom banner is not a Google-certified CMP. EEA, UK, and Swiss traffic therefore may receive only non-personalized ads unless a certified CMP is added. See Google's Advertising Technology Privacy Policy and Google Ads Settings.
4. Cookie Consent (GDPR & ePrivacy)
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we are required by law to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device.
When a Zone A user first visits the Site, the cookie consent banner allows the user to:
- Accept all cookies: Grants analytics and advertising consent states in addition to essential storage; Google AdSense can then use the granted advertising signals for eligible personalized ads
- Reject non-essential cookies: Denies non-essential storage; cookieless Consent Mode pings may continue
- Manage preferences: Choose analytics and advertising categories individually
We use cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 with the regional Consent Mode default. Zone A starts with cookieless measurement, while Zone C starts with granted measurement; saved preferences always override the regional default.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the Cookie Preferences control in the Site footer.
Your consent choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key __consent and is remembered for 13 months.
5. How to Manage and Delete Cookies
5.1 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual cookies or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Block all third-party cookies
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set
Please note that restricting cookies may impact the functionality of the Site and many other websites you visit.
| Browser | Cookie Settings Link |
|---|---|
| Google Chrome | chrome://settings/cookies |
| Mozilla Firefox | Firefox Cookie Settings |
| Apple Safari | Safari Privacy Settings |
| Microsoft Edge | Edge Cookie Settings |
| Opera | Opera Cookie Settings |
5.2 Advertising Opt-Out Resources
You can manage personalized advertising preferences through the following Google and industry opt-out resources. Browser controls and the Site's advertising preference can also limit advertising storage.
- google.com/settings/ads
- myadcenter.google.com
- optout.networkadvertising.org
- optout.aboutads.info
- youronlinechoices.eu
5.3 Opt Out of Optional Analytics
Keep analytics disabled in the Site cookie preferences to prevent Google Analytics cookies and consented feature-interaction events. Cookieless page-view pings may continue while analytics storage is denied. When consent is withdrawn, the Site returns analytics storage to denied and removes the current stream's _ga, _ga_*,_gid, and _gat* cookies. You can also clear site data.
5.4 Clear LocalStorage
To remove our essential preferences stored in your browser's localStorage:
- Open your browser's Developer Tools
- Go to the Application or Storage tab
- Select Local Storage for gothicfontgenerator.net
- Delete the keys:
gothic-theme,gothic-font-favorites, and__consent
Alternatively, clearing all site data for our domain will remove all stored preferences.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a Do Not Track feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. Currently, there is no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
At this time, Gothic Font Generator does not alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals. However, you can use the opt-out methods described in Section 5 to limit tracking.
7. Third-Party Cookies
The Google tag is a third-party service and may send cookieless pings while analytics storage is denied. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies when regional or user consent grants analytics storage. Google AdSense is also active in production and may use advertising technologies according to the advertising consent signals and Google policy.
| Third Party | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Regional Consent Mode measurement; analytics cookies when storage is granted | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google AdSense (ca-pub-4306979469592115) | Auto Ads delivery and measurement; cookies, web beacons, IP address, and advertising/device identifiers may be used as permitted by consent and Google policy | Google Advertising Technology Privacy Policy |
Google's advertising disclosures are available in its Advertising Technology Privacy Policy.

When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
